Nick Bickford
My early workshops encouraged explorative work clay culminating, in 2011, with the production of over 200 clay faces by people of all ages gradually evolving in style and emotion over a week.
In 2011, I “discovered” a chest full of ceramic object supposedly produced by a civilization that no longer exists. Efforts to interpret these remains and speculation as to how this community developed are included in the booklet “Lala LA Land, A discovery in the English Countryside” Many objects, such as pictures, tiles and models have been made to increase awareness of Lala LA Land. A model City was built in 2013 supposedly part of an abandoned civilization discovered by downtrodden serfs escaping drudgery as the sole workers in Lala LA Land.
